About Nottingham Travelwise
The Travelwise Centre, in its current incarnation, exists to provide real-time traffic and travel information throughout Nottingham and Nottinghamshire.We do this by working directly with multiple agencies and data sources. Though we ae based in the Traffic Control Centre of Nottingham City Council, we also work closely with Nottinghamshire County Council and the Highways Agency. Our aim is to enable those planning on taking a journey inside this area to make the most appropriate travel choices for their needs. This can take the form of allowing for selection of alternate routes, choosing a car park with known spaces, or simply deciding to use the public transport network.

- Why itsnottingham.info?
The URL we redirect to, from the more familiar www.nottinghamtravelwise.org.uk, is referring to ITS; Intelligent (or Integrated, depending on who you ask) Transport Systems. Hence, ITS Nottingham info. - xx Camera is down! Why is that?
Usually, this means the camera is in use by the control desk, or the police. When this is the case, the image is taken away from general viewing. We have also had instances where cameras or infrastructure have been damaged so heavily, major work has to be undertaken to replace the unit and/or associated cabling. - Must you shut the cameras off at 6.30PM?
Yes. The web presentation of images is only possible when there is a human hand behind the scenes, making sure there is no potentially risky content being broadcast. Because the police have control of our cameras, without the ability to turn them off during an incident, this cannot happen. - Why can't I find anything out about xx set of roadworks?
