Severe delays on A610 Eastbound at peak evening periods

Last updated 2009-06-19, 15:35 by bta
For the last week, delays (and thus incidents reported) have been a regular feature of the A610 - section Eastbound, towards J26 from Giltbrook. This is due to a recent change in road layout for the M1 widening works; this change in layout has now been fully completed and is creating congestion.

This work is an essential part of the widening scheme, and the layout is not expected to change 'in the near future'. We're looking into the timescale and will bring updates where possible.

We expect delays on this stretch of road at peak evening periods until further notice. If it is at all feasible for motorists to avoid this section of road by taking an alternative route, we advise you do.

Evening peak can be defined as the following:
  • Monday - Thursday, 16:30 - 18:00
  • Friday, 15:00 - 17:30
