Last updated 2009-10-19, 11:51 by bta
Some news regarding Parksmart - Nottingham's inner-city signing strategy - which has its official unveiling this week. The project has allowed for significant expansion in the provision of real-time parking occupancy on this website. New additions are the following:
  • Huntingdon Street accessed from behind the Aldi store on Huntingdon Street. 250 spaces, Metro car parks.
  • Mount Street. 427 spaces, NCP.
  • St. James' Street. 470 spaces, NCP.
  • Stoney Street. 350 spaces. NCP.
  • Trinity Square. 430 spaces, Nottingham City.
  • Nottingham Station. 320 spaces, Nottingham City.
  • Queensbridge Road - opposite Nottingham railway station, accessed from Sheriffs way. 405 spaces, NCP. (N.B. this is not part of the Parksmart branding exercise).
Furthermore, real-time information from Arndale and Fletcher Gate has improved accuracy.

While most of the Parksmart system has been implemented and is working successfully, there are a couple of problems which are to be resolved in the near future. One Variable Message Sign, on Maid Marian Way northbound, has a power supply problem and is thus blanked. Data from Talbot Street Car Park - situated under the Welbeck Hotel - is still unavailable due to problems interfacing with the ticketing system.
